Sir James Mills, interviewed, said that arrangements for the installation of wireless telegraphy on all the Union Company's passenger steamers were far advanced. Nothing, however, would be finally settled until the Government had decided definitely upon what system they would adopt at the stations which were to be erected. A PLANTATION FIRE. Blenheim, February 6. Fifty thousand trees were destroyed by the fire at Dumgrce last week, and the damage is now estimated at from £4OOO to £SOOO. NAPIER GAS COMPANY. Napier, February 6. The annual report of the Napier Gas Company disclosed a very profitable year. After the payment of an interim dividend in June, a profit of £7355 remained, and the directors recommended that a further £5533 be allocated, leaving a balance of £lß2l to be carried forward.
