THE AGIUCULTUKAL SOCIETY*,n 'L To the Editor. Sir, —There is an impression abroad that Mr. J. R. Hill is vexed and has resigned from the Agricultural Society's committee through riot having received the appointment to the secretaryship. This is not so, as I received his written resignation nearly a week before the .election. lie having applied, felt he could not accept the position while having a seat on the committee. Mr. Hill, who lias been a most consistent committeeman for many years, will work just as heartily in the' society's interests under tlie new secretary as hitherto. —I am, etc., W. AMBURY,
