THE MEXICAN REVOLT
DRAGGING ALONG. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York, February 2. Seventy-five Revolutionists and twelve Federals were killed in a battle near San Lorenzo, Chihuahua. Trains have been captured by the Mexican rebels, who released the passengers unmolested. AMERICAN CITIZENS LEAVING. Mexico, February 2. American citizens arc leaving Juarez. Mine* are believed to have been planted under the Government Buildings by the rebels.
INHABITANTS FLEEING. FEDERALS DYNAMITING THE RAILWAY. Received 4, 1.7 a.m. New York. February 3. The inhabitants of Ciudad and Juarez, on the American border, are fleeing from the Mexican rebels, who swear they will capture the town. The banks' treasure has been brought out from El Paso. The Federal force dynamited the railway near Juarez, and a train loaded with rebels was wrecked by the explosion, many being killed, and human fragments littering the track. A skirmish followed, both sides losing men. The Federals exploded gunpowder works at South Juarez, and two Americans were accidentally killed in the explosion. El Paso was shaken by the detonation.
