WANGANUI TRAMWAYS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The CastleclifT-Gonville Tramway Board to-night accepted the following teuders:, For rails, fishplates, and dogs, Briscoe and Co., Wellington, £0073 Cs (id; for points and crossings, Richardson, Blair, and McCabe, £1043 5s Cd; for 14,000 sleepers, J. W. Wallace and Co., Wellington, at 5s 5d each. LAND BALLOT. Wellington, Last Night. At the Lands Office to-day a ballot was held for 1847 acres at Nukumaru, Rangitatau, near Waitotara. The successful applicant was Mrs. Florence Jackson, but as she had not complied with the conditions and was not represented at the ballot, the section went to Edward Leahy.
