PUNIHO TOLL-HOUSE INVADED
KEEPER'S EXCITING EXPERIENCE. The Puniiio toll-bar has been the scene of a few exciting events, writes an occasional correspondent, but the most recent is perhaps tbe most unpleasant of them all for the caretaker and his family. Last Saturday, just as the paying traffic of the road had almost, if not entirely, ceased for' the night, and the occupants of the cottage had made alf preparations for retiring, a new traffic set in, when an army of eaterpillars many thousands strong, holding indisputable possession of the main road, stormed the entrance to the cottage, and, to the dismay of Mr. anil Mrs. Sadler, in a few minutes had forced admission by every possible avenue, swarming in in such multitudes as to literally cover the floor, walls, and every article of furniture. It actually took hours of unceasing labor to sweep and shovel the silent intruders out, and it was just upon sunrise on Sunday morning when the battle ended.
