South Africa made 229 (Commailla 31 not out, Campbell 23, and Sherwell 35 were the chief scorers). Hamilton district's second innings produced 120. McDonald (22) was top scorer. Llewellyn took three wickets for 24, Vogler. seven for 53, Schwarz five for 27. The South Africans won by an innings and fifty runs.

On Thursday Stratford defeated Hawera by 137 runs (Beal 65, Dunlop 46) to 88 (Jennings 10, Parkinson 15). In the return match on the East End beach between the Moturoa beachcombers and the East End campers, the Westenders won comfortably, making over a century, their opponents being only ablo to reach about half, that score. It waa a 12-a-side match, and fortunately for the Westenders the extra man (Weston)| was a champion cricketer and put up 20. But he wasn't the highest scorer for hfe side, as Bowles made 22. Stohr rattled up 17 in good style. Whitaken had the distinction of making the only; "duck" for his side.
