CATHOLICS AND EDUCATION

URGED TO FORM A POLITICAL PARTY. ,

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In opening the new Marist School at To Aro this afternoon, Archbishop Redwood made a strong plea on the lines oi his speech at St. Patrick's College Jubilee celebrations recently for the recognition of the claims of Catholics to support in the education of their children. He said that until their just claims were acknowledged and granted, the Catholics were determined to maintain the struggle in the cause of God and religion. Mr. Martin Kennedy, supplementing the Archbishop's remarks, urged Catholics to become a political party, so as to influence the legislature in the realisation of the claims of Catholics in this matter.
