earlier date. The Hon. Mr. Mackenzie, Minister for Agriculture, explained to a reporter tha* owing to certain circumstances which perhaps could not be further alluded to, the Canterbury estimates had of necessity to be based upon those of last year. It was hoped, however, to get out a fresh estimate at a later date.
