LONDON WOOL SALES. London, January 25. There was strong Yorkshire competition at the wool sales for all good combing merinos, with a hardening tendency. Faultiea were rather irregular. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Mart.—On Saturday last we had a large entry of poultry. The market has recovered itself very quickly after the holidays, and we are pleased to be able to report an advance in all classes. A nice line of brown Leghorn pullets was penned and realised 3s 7d each. Good table birds are in demand. Prices were as follows:—Hens (table) Is 9d to 2s 2d, poor Is 2d to Is fid; ducks, Is 6d to Is 9d; chicks, 6d to 8d; ducklings, Is to Is Cd; cockerels, Is 4d to 2s 2d. A line of dressed ducklings realised 2s to 2s 3d. Fruit—During the week we have had large quantities of all varieties of fruits from Auckland, Hawke's Bay and Nelson. Raspberries this? year are just about finished. We do not expect many more shipments of apricots. Up till now we have had very few peaches, evidently due to the big demand in Auckland and Wellington. Burbank plums have been in very large supply, the market being absolutely glutted. The first choice grapes from Auckland district readied us this week and were sought tffter. Prices during the week were:—Oranges, 12s Cd to 15s; bananas,2%d to 3d; apples, 3s to 3s <sd; plums, Burbanks Is 3d to 2s Od, Ogons 9d to 2s 9d, Satsumas 2s Od to 3s, Blue Diamonds 3s Cd to 4s, black 3s 3d to 4s 3d; apricots, choice to 8s Od, seconds 5s to 7s; peaches, choice Cs to 7s 3d, good 5s fid, seconds 4s; nectarines, 4s Od to 0s; yellow gages, 2s to 3s; prime plums 2s to 2s Od; Nelson tomatoes, 2s Od to 4sfid (according to quality), Auckland 12's Is fld to 2s 3d, sauce and wet 9d to Is 3d; potatoes,'Gs Od; onions, 7s; kumeias, 10s; pears, 2s 9d to 4s; greengages, good 4s to 4s Cd, seconds 3s; grapes, Is; cucumbers, 4s; lemons, 3s; cooking apples, 4s; Gravanstein dessert apples, 8s 3d; green peas, 7d peck. Furniture.—On Wednesday last we cleared Mr. Cooper's furniture at satisfactory prices.
