OVER-EDUCATION CONDEMNED
AN EXTRAVAGANT UTTERANCE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 27, 12.55 a.m. Perth, January 20. In the Assembly, Mr. Underwood, a Labor member, discussing the University Bill, condemned spending money on teaching classics' and music. He said they did not want Latin, and there was nothing in Plato. University men, he declared, were always in the rear, and it was easier for a porcupine to go backwards through a canvas hose than for a University man to go into politics.
