HURRICANE IN NEW HEBRIDES
SEVERAL VESSELS ASHORE. By Gable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, January 20. The steamer Maraita, from the New Hebrides, reports that there was a hurricane on the islands on December 31. Several recruiting vessels were driven ashore, and two foundered at their anchorage, but no lives were lost. Continuous earthquake shocks are reported throughout the group.
