SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENTS.
To the Editor. Sir,—ln your issue of the 18th inst. you say Miss Terry is the only Taranaki 'girl on the credit list of the junior University examinations. I congratulate the young lady on her meritorious performance. Stratford School has got til? only boy on the same list, namely, .Master "E. M. Wylie, and I think they are both entitled to the Taranaki scholarships, which are very valuable. While 011 the subject, I should like to call your attention to the fact that no less.than thirteen candidates passed the junior National and Taranaki Education Board Scholarship examinations, from Stratford. Again I find that Fanny Sherlock was the only Taranaki candidate to obtain and Solicitor's General Knowledge in the University examinations. while the marks obtained by the Taranaki pupils compare more than favorably with pupils from the larger centres, where they have purely secondary schools—l am, etc., C.
