IMMIGRATION DEMANDED

BY SYDNEY BUILDERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, January 18. At the annual meeting of the Master Builders' .Association the opinion was expressed that, owing to the shortage of labor, the money spent on buildings this year will not exceed the expenditure of last year. The association trusted that experience would impel the Government to olitain more immigrants.

On the whole, settlements under the Industrial Disputes Act had proved fairly satisfactory to both sides. The Workmen's Compensation Act had n*t been sufficiently long in force to judge of its effects, but the immediate prospect undoubtedly was that employers would have to spend more money in insuring against the claims of injured workmen.
