JOKING WITH GELIGNITE

Four boys, the eldest being nine years, placed a quantity of gelignite on a tramline at Gwalia, on the Northern Goldfield, and then hid in the vicinity,, watching for the fun. The sun melted and partially destroyed the explosive, and when a tram passed over it the stuff exploded, and tore a hole a foot deep In the ground. The explosion damaged the line, but no one was injured.
