QUARTERLY MEETING. The circuit quarterly meeting of the . \V lnteley Memorial Church was held last ~" p night. The Rev. J. 0. Chapman pre- f sided, and fourteen officers were present. ■ \ The report of the church showed that there were 205 members. The income s' for the quarter was £l4O Us Id, and S the expenditure £124 lis Id, leaving '"J a credit balance ol' £2l 15s. The bal- * anee-sheet was adopted, and satisfaction fi expressed at the liealthy state of the. <i finances. ' .. j Mr. J. W. Boon retired from the circuit stewardship by effluxion of time, •»', and was heartily thankeQ for the faith' ■ ' ful and efficient way in which he liad ..; discharged the duties of his office for the past three years. Mr. J. Gibson waa elected senior circuit steward, and Mr t < Nelson Okey was appointed junior circuit steward. The Rev. J. G. Chapman was asked to attend the forthcoming annual conference, which will meet in Christchurch during February, and Mr. J. Gibson was ' elected to accompany him. Messrs. W« Griffiths, C. W. Hooker, H. Ford, J. Bestford, M. Barnitt, W. F; Short, and ■/-« S. Dale were re-elected society stewards of Whitcley Church. Mr. W. It. Mclsaac - J for Soutli road; Mr. A. Marsh for * Lower Egmont road; Mr. J. Martin for "Jj Upland road, and Mr. W. Wilkie foe 'j Carrington road, were also elected. Mr. 'lf H. Ford was appointed envelope' Stew- >*& ard. £ Resolutions of sympathy were passed ' with Mr. and Mrs. M. Okey, Mrs. Todd, and the Rev. Mr. Copeland, of Eltham, in their recent bereavements. ,' i The secretary of the Grey Institute Mission property reported to the meeting that the entire revenue from the ,']j property had been forwarded to the " treasurers of the Home Mission Fund, ' >; to be devoted to the cartying out of Home Mission work. A committee was set up to make ar- ,13 rangements for meetings during the com- J ing winter for the young people of the ■ J church. ' * | A resolution was passed regretting the *3 departure from New Plymouth of Mr. ?,1 and Mrs. L. H. Osborn, and expressing appreciation of their services rendered "Jm to the church, and commending them t# , ij our church in Dunedin. ■ The meeting was closed by the chair- '1 man pronouncing the Benediction.
