DISASTERS IN SPAIN. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Madrid, January 15. Assistance has been sent to Ottero, near Segovia, to rescue a train which is snowed up. The passengers are foodless. There, are many trains snowed up in the north of Spain. The Governor of Leon reports that an avalanche at Puebla de Gardon swept into the river a locomotive and eight waggons of a train which had been held up. There is snow to a depth of twenty feet in many places. The tunnels in Araba are blocked, and several trains buried. It is not known whether relief can be sent, as it cannot reach the places affected. The wires are down. Great havoc has been done at Cadiz, Gijon and Vigo, eighty vessels having been destroyed or damaged.
