The working hours of tramway employees have been reduced from 54 to 48 weekly. ANTARCTIC WEATHER REPORTS. Adelaide, January 13. Dr. Mawson is communicating with the Federal authorities with regard to supplying daily weather reports from the Antarctic by means of wireless telegraphy. He states that they would be invaluable. . DENUDATION OF FORESTS. Melbourne, January 13. The Assistant Railway Commissioner advises prohibiting the export of railway sleepers, in view of the rapid de-1 nudation of forests.
THE FEDERAL REFERENDA. Sydney, January 13. The Labor Council unanimously decided to support the Federal Government's referenda proposals. Speakers expressed surprise at the State Labor Government refraining from expressing a definite attitude.
