WRECK OF THE ROSENDALE

REMOTE HOPE OF RE-FLOATING. - By Association—Copyright. Sydney, January 13. The Rosendale is considered a complete wreck. While being towed in the Bellinger river, a huge wave lifted her on to a sand spit, where she stuck hard and fast. The passengers were unable to get off during the night, and spent an anxious time, as the seas were crashing over the vessel. They were landed soon after daybreak, this being possible through the Rosendale shifting closer to the breakwater. It is supposed that the captain, in trying to avoid the submerged wreck of the schooner Elliston in the middle of the fairway, caused the accident. The Rosendale previously strandedi n the same locality, and was ultimately refloated. This time the prospects of refloating the vessel are remote.
