BOWLING.
THE NORTHERN TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Northern Bowling Association's bowling tournament was continued today in perfect weather. The section play in the pairs match was completed by noon, and this afternoon most of the visiting bowlers and lady friends were tendered a harbor excursion by the president, Mr. Win, Elliot, and Mrs. Elliot. This evening the bowlers are being entertained at a theatre party. A number of ties resulted in the section play of the pairs match. These wore decided in all but two instances. The pairs sections were won by the following:— A section.—Saxton (Mt. Eden); B section, Wiggins (Te Hhvi); C section, Blinkthome (Masterton); D section, Hall (Hastings); E section, Watkins (Epsom); F section, Prince (Newton); G section, Smith (Hastings); H section, Austin (Carlton); J section, Cresswell (Masterton); K section, Munro (Thorndon); L section, Keith (Victoria); M section, Greig (Gisbome); N section, Wakerley (Kocky Nook); 0 section, Porteous (Te Hiwi); P section, Mcintosh (Onehunga); Q section, Lockhead (Feilding); S section, Bell (Grey Lynn); T section, Giles (Mt. Eden); U section, Martin (Turanganui); V section, Pascoe (Grey Lynn); W section, Carman (Eltham); X section, Baildon (Grey Lynn). In Y section Wylie (Newtown) and Taylor (Auckland) have to play off; and in Z section Pollock (Newtown) and Fisher (Carterton) have also to play off. The full rink ties were also decided, the section winners now being as follows:—A section, Mcintosh (Onehunga); B section, Parata (Thorndon); C section, Hucston (Victoria); D section, Ballinger (Wellington); E section, B»terson (Remucra); F section, Dingle (Auckland) ; G section, Eagleton (Epsom); II section, Veale (Ponsonby); J section, Norwood (Victoria) has to meet Martin (Rocky Nook); K section, Parsons (Ponsonby); L section, Wylie (Newtown); M section, Dingwall (Remucra). The semi-final will be played to-morrow.
WEST END v. WAITARA. West End bowlers visited Waitara yesterday afternoon, and played a very enjoyable match against the local club. The home bowlers won by the comfortable margin of 34 points." Results (the Waitara club being mentioned first in each instance) : Nosworthy, Bent, Hatt.cn.bury, Andrews (skip) 30; Francis, Ncwell, Bigelow, Bcal (skip) 23.
