FIRES.
DRILL HALL BURNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Wednesday. C'aversham Drill Shed was partially •destroyed this morning. Jt belonged to the city corporation, in the main building was a piano, the private property of the local volunteers, and 28 cadei riiles, valued at £O3. All these were destroyed. They were uninsured. Attached to the hall were three rooms. One was gutted. Of the other two the one that contained riiles, uniforms and about 0000 rounds of ammunition was practically untouched. The building was insured for £SOO in the Standard Office. The caretaker last night, when cleaning out the premises, burnt papers in one of the fire places, which is supposed to have caused the fire.
