FOOTBALL

There is a probability of tile Taranakl Rugby Union taking over control of Saturday football in the coming season, and steps will be taken shortly to hold a meeting in New Plymouth with a view of ascertaining what clubs are likely to afliliate with th.e T.R.U. With the wider observance of the Saturday half-holiday the ranks of the week-end footballers should be largely increased, especially if the Saturday competition is organised by the parent body. It is understood that three strong clubs can be formed here.
