AUCKLAND WOOL SALE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The second wool sale of the season was held to-day. There was a full attendance of buyers, but competition, except for best sorts, was dull, chiefly owing to the large proportion of inferior log-stained wool from backblocks farms. In all, 7320 bales were offered, compared with 0915 at the November sales, and from a third to a half were passed in unsold, though many farmers afterwards decided to accept the prices offered. There was a general decline in prices, averaging about three-farthings. Medium crossbred in light condition fell V-'d; finer sorts varied from par to Id below November rates. The market was topped by 13 bales of fine halfbred at liy 2 d, on account of Mr. J. 11. Phillips (Whangarei). The range of prices is as follows:—Fine crossbred, TV-jd to 10y 2 d; medium, 8d to O'/jd; inferior log-stained and dingy, 3d to 7%d; Jtomney, 9d to lid; longxvool, 7d to fid; lambs, good, 7d to Sy,d; ditto, seedy, to 7d; bellies and pieces to sy,d; cotty wool to 7'/ 2 d.
