NEW COUNTY OFFICES

The Council met Yesterday in its new offices on the section at the corner of Robe street and Powdcrham street. The new building, which was erected by Messrs. Boon Bros., was designed by Mr. Frank Messenger. The main frontage is to Robe street, and presents a neat appearance.' On the right of the central corridor is the public office, 18ft. by l(ift., provided with counter and a desk, etc., for the comity clerk's assisfant. From here access is sained to the clerk's office, which adjoins.' This is Kift. by 10ft. The strong room, Sft. by 4ft., is situated between tlu.-e two offices. At the rear of the clerk's office is a commodious council chamber, 27ft. by 20ft. On the opposite side of 'the corridor is a room 17ft Gin. by 12ft., one 12ft. Bin. by 12ft., and another 15ft. by Sft. The two larger ones have been let to Hie Agricultural Department. Up-to-date sanitary conveniences are provided, and below the council chamber there is extensive ctdlarage accommodation. The rooms have been nicely furnished. The frontage to Robe street is Soft., and the depth of the building is 04ft. Electric light is installed throughout.
