WORKMEN'S INSURANCE
MR. LLOYD-GEORGE'S SCHEME. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, January 4. The provisional scheme of Mr. LloydGeorge for sickness and invalidity insurance has been printed. It proposes to operate through the present voluntary societies on the basis of the compulsion of all workers whose earnings are below £IOO a year. They will make contributions to provide for a minimum benefit of as a week, to which the State guarantee will be restricted to meet one half. The workman insures for the remainder in equal proportions with his employer and the State. Any insurance beyond the minimum is voluntary.
