EAST COAST INDICATIONS. By Telegraph.—fresa Association. Gisborne, Yesterday. Satisfactory indications are reported from the Gisborne Oil Company's Waitaijgi bore. A considerable quantity of oil and gas is coming up between the S-incli and the (1-inch piping, the 8-inch piping extending 57 feet below the strata where the oil was first tapped at 0.V5 ' feet. The o-iiuh easing, which is now down to 1447 feet, also shows signs of gas and petroleum. The bore has now been passing through more clayed shale for 180 feet.
