NEW YEAR HONORS
COLONIALS IN THE LTST. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, January 1. Among the New Year's honors, Lord Islington, Governor of New Zealand, has been made a K.C.M.G., while G. H. Knibbs, the Commonwealth statistician, and F. M. Baley, Colonial Botanist, of Queensland, are made Companions of St. Michael and St. George. The following have been made Knights Bachelor: Hon. W. P. Cullen, K.C., M.L.C., New South Wales; J. W. Ilackett, M.L.C., Westralia, and editor of the Perth Mail; and Thomas Tait, until recently chairman of the Railway Commissioners in Victoria.
