THE BOOT TRADE. ' By T&legraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. A conference of delegates from the federated bootmakers' uhions of New Zealand opened to-day, delegates being present from Auckland, New Plymouth (Mr. W. Sadler), Wellington, Christcßurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill. A number of important items will be dealt with, including the proposed establishment of a co-operative boot factory, and the question of establishing a fighting fund for the purpose of taking some consolidated action at the next general election. A remit dealing with out-of-work benefits to cover the whole federation will also be considered. It is stated that out-of-work benefits at present apply to only two branches.
