In the first innings Carroll bowled six wickets for 29, and Boddam four for 8. A match between teams captained by Messrs. Bowles and Mackay was playea on the Recreation Ground on Boxing ! Day, the result being a win for the for- , mer by 41 runs, the totals.being 82—41. Bowles was in good form with the bat, and was responsible for 35. The only other player to reach double figures was Monk (II). Mackay was the best of the bowlers, getting three wickets at a cost of 15 runs. On Mackay's side six failed to score, and two were credited with 32 out. of the total of 41, viz., Mackay 22 and Brabant 10. , Morey's bowling accounted for six wickets for 16, and Holdsworth secured two for 23.
