A CHRISTCHURCH SENSATION.
"THE LION AND THE H'SK." (Special to the Now*.) Christcliurcli, l/ist The great American actrcHs, Minn Katherine <irey, created a sensation at the Theatre Royal by her brilliant acting in "The Lion and the Mouse." It in generally acknowledged that 110 liner actress has ever visited the Dominion. The action of the play was watched with intense interest, and as the story developed, so lie enthusiasm increased. Upon the termination of the drama, the audience, which filled the theatre from floor to ceiling, stood up and cheered the artiste again and again. Mr. Desmond, who was engaged 'by Mr. J. C. Williamson to fill Mr. Julius Knight's place, was also enthusiastically cheerede. The whole theatre has been booked for the balance of the season.
