RIFLE SHOOTING
WANGAUI MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press AssoofeMon. Wanganui, Last Night. The Wanganui and West Coast Rifle Association meeting commenced on the Butiki range to-day. There were record entries, and glorious weather was eiperienced. The Wanganui match was won by Private Blanohett (Taranaki Rifles), £2 TOs, with a score of 68. Lance-Cor-poral Hunt (Post and Telegraph, £2 10s; Rifleman Feist (Opaki), £2; Rifleman McLachlan (Petonej, £1 10s; Corporal Patrick (Victoria), £li; Rifleman Mercer, £1; were next with 67. The following, with 66, won £1 each:—Ri3eman Batt (Mangaweka) Rifleman Allen (Taradale), Private Walker (Napier), Private Godfrey (Wanganui Rifles), Col.-Sergt. Carey (Patea Rifles), Rifleman E. Harrison (Rahotu Rifle Club), Rifleman Bank (KJmbolton), Rifleman G. Halliday (Karon), and Rifleman. Jar vis (Taradale). The Taranaki Match was won by Corporal Given (Wellington City Rifles), £4, with a score of 47. Next came Rifleman Willoughiby (Gladstone)-, £2 10s, 45; Corporal Cook (Palmerston North Rifles), £2, 45; Lance-Corporal Hunt (Zealandia Rifles), 30s, 44. The following took £1 each:—Rifleman Cameron (Opaki) 44, Private Eyles (Dannevirke), Rifleman Hyde (Opalki), and Rifleman Ayson 43, Rifleman McMurray (Taradale), Rifleman Glashan, Rifleman McLachlan (Petone), Rifleman Feist (Opaki), Lieut. Cade (Wanganui Guards), Rifleman Speck (Stratford), 42 each. Sergt. Davies (Taranaki Rifles), 49, was top in the Wellington match, the ' next best being Corporal Given (Wellington)-, G. Hyde (Opalci) 48. The full scores are not available.
