ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Dunedin, Saturday. Early this morning in the Trocadero Samuel Sloan, a bootmaker, employed at Sargood's, attempted suicide by shooting himself in the chest and forehead. He was removed to the hospital. A CHILD DROWNED. A sad drowning fatality occurred at Manaia on Saturday, when the 18-months-old daughter of Mr. W. T. Wells lost her life. A party was in progress and the little girl wandered down to a dam, where she fell in afid life was found to be extinct when she-was discovered.
