' The ruins of the Kaupokonut" factory and store, which were burned down early on Friday'morning, were still smouldering on Monday, the remains of the cheese bursting into flame. The origin of the fire is not yet definitely ascertained, for though when discovered all indications pointed to an outbreak in the boiler house, an examination of the walls at the end of the boiler indicates that this was not so. The .estimated loss above the insurance is £BOOO to £10,000.' A-store was opened the morning after the fire in the company's office, and it is expected that a temporary factory will be ready for operations in about a fortnight. A large stable had just been completed on a site opposite that on which the factory stood, but had not been put into use, and it is proposed to equip this with the necessary machinery. The supplies at present are being diverted to the five or six factories in the vicinity. If your property is not insured call at or rim up the tjnited Insurance Company, Ltd., Devon-street.
