FIRES.
IN THE AUCKLAND DISTRICT. By T-el^graph.—Free* Association. Auckland, Monday. A two-storey shop and residence at Eden Terrace, owned by Mackay, Logan, Caldwell and Co., and occupied by W. Gribble, draper, was gutted by fire on Sunday morning. Gribble's stock, which was valued at £2OOO, was insured in the New Zealand, Commercial Union, and Royal offices. Cairn's Hall, at Ellerslie, and contents were destroyed by fire on Saturday evening. The loss is estimated at £550. It was insured in the Guardian office for £350. The origin of the fire is unknown.
