The weather was fine for the second day of the Christchurch Racing Club's summer meeting, and as a result of a strong breeze the track had quite dried up. The attendance showed a consider-! able improvement, and the tote investments amounted to £3516 10s, making a- total of £5878 10s for the meeting, as against £7970 last year. Results:— Midland Welter Handicap.—Montreal 1, Merry Lass 2, Mumura 3. Also started: Boutade, Gold Braid, Zetland, Probable, Southern Cross, Romany Maid. Won by a length. Time, lmin 33sec. Kindergarten Handicap. —Query 1, Pleasure Bent 2, Tannhauser 3. Also started: Muircock, Swordplay, Oratava. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 5 4-ssec.
