FARMERS AND FREE TRADE

THE CANADIAN DEPUTATION.

By Cable—Press Association —Copyright,

Received 18, 5.5 p.m. Ottawa, December 17,

He was hopeful that reciprocity would be established with the United States, but did not think the revision of the Canadian tariffs could be hurried. British preference was an integral part of the Government's policy. The construction of the Hudson Bay railway would be hastened, probably under Government ownership.
