KNYVETT APPEALS

FOR A NEW TRIAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Friday. A letter was received by Mr. Dickson, chairman of the Knyvett Committee, from Captain F. B. Knyvett today, enclosing a copy of the appeal which Captain Knyvett sent to the Minister for Defence for a new trial. The appeal- which was by Captain Knyvett to the Minister is worded as follows: "The Hon. the Minister for Defence, Wellington. "Sir,—Re the dismissal of Captain Knyvett vide Gazette notice New Zealand Government Gazette. January 7, ■•it). I have the honor to appeal against the above dismissal, wherein I was dismissed for an alleged act to the prejudice of good order and military discipline, and beg to apply for a court martial as allowed by the New Zealand Defence Amendment Act, October, 1910. I would most respectfully request that I may be informed when the new trial will take place, and in what town, in order that I may be able to notify tho various witnesses that I will require, and ,also to make a business arrangement, which will enable me to have the time to attend same. I have the honor, etc., (signed) F. B. Knyvett." The letter was registered and posted by Captain Knyvett at Christchurch on December 7, and a reply is now daily expected.
