UNDER TWENTY-ONE
YOUTH FINED FOR DRINKING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Friday. In the Police Court this morning Philip Thomas Ellis was charged with having obtained liquor by falsely representing himself ai the age of twentyone years. Defendant pleaded guilty. A constable stated that he entered the bar and found defendant with two other men, all having beer in front of them. Defendant told the constable he had paid for the liquor, and in response to further questions said he was over twentyone. Defendant also made a false statement to the barman, who asked his age and pointed to the notice posted up in the bar. Mr. Bartholomew, S.M., imposed a fine of 20s and costs.
