AUSTRALIAN REGISTRAR'S REPORT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, December 15. The report of the Registrar of. Friendly Societies, which has been tabled in the Assembly, shows remarkable progress in ten years. The members have increased from 78,000 to 133,000, and the aggregate funds from £659,761 to £1,335,379. Last year the membership increased 9832, or 8 per cent. Allowing for defunct and moribund lodges, there were 99 new branches. Sick pay amounted to £105,948, the highest on record, owing to more liberal provisions in cases of chronic sickness. Management expenses were 11.7 per cent. The registrar considers this unduly high.
