The youth Edwards was found guilty of the manslaughter of his father, with a strong recommendation to mercy. A sentence of two years' imprisonment was imposed. Constable Edwards, at Moorabbin, succumbed to gunshot wounds inflicted by his son, a youth of twenty-one, who resented his father ill-treating his mother. The son was arrested on a charge of wounding with intent to murder.
