JOHNSON -JEFFRIES CONTEST. The much-talked-of living pictures of the memorable boxing encounter for the world's supremacy, 'between Johnson and Jeffries, the sole Neiw Zealand rights of which have been sucerd by the MacMahon Bros., will be shown for the first time in New Plymouth in the Theatre Royal, for one night only, to-night. Not since the day when Sayers met Heenan 'has such extraordinary interest been manifested in a fistic encounter, and the arrival of the pictures, which are said to be exceptionally good, iwill probably attract record attendances. The fight, which was presented by biograph at the Wellington Opera House for the first time in Australasia on Thursday last, is still drawing record houses in that city. The three daily papers speak in unstinted praise of the pictures, unanimously agreeing that they are the best ever presented to Dominion audiences. In addition to the "star" subject, a new and l delightful series of the latest animated pictures will constitute the earlier portion of the programme. The management announce popular prices, and that, seats may be reserved at Collier's. Fight pictures will not start until 9.30.
