1 SENIOR GRADE. NEW PLYMOUTH v. ATHLETIC. 1 The result was a win on the first innings for Athletic, who made 174, to their opponents' 98. For the winners, Gwillim played a capital game, and reached his century .before being bowled by Lash. Bury was also in good form, and did some strong hitting for his 43. New Plymouth's 98 was mainly contributed by four batsmen; McLaren hit out for his 32, getting six 4's; Williams made 23, Bewley 15, and Ardern 14. The following wiere the scores:—

. JUNIOR COMPETITION. The scores in the High School v. Carrington Road match give this game as a draw, 50 runs each, but the detailed scores showed that the former won by one run. New Plymouth playred Athletics at Tukapa, and' beat them by 92 to 56 in a two-innings game. New Plymouth made 33 and l 59, and Athletic replied with 14 and 41. SCHOOL COMPETITION. ,V • High School B beat Fitzroy by 96 to 32. The principal scorers for High School iwiere Grey 18, Gibson (not out) 24, and Bacon 10. For Fitzroy Kirton's 10 was the only double-figures scare. High School A beat the Scouts in a played-out match by 101 to 47. In their first innings Scouts made eight, only four batsmen breaking their "duck"; but tk#y managed to 'knock up 39 in their second essay. High School made 42 and 59, "Monk in the first innings making 11, and Newell in the second reaching 10.

NORTH' TARANAKI ASSOCIATION.

A special general meeting ,of the North Taranaki Cricket Association was held' in Messrs. Webster and M'Kellar's office on Wednesday night. Present: Messrs. W. Bewley (president), Southall (hon. sec.), Whittle, Johns, and Williams (New Plymouth), 1 Perham and Avery (Carrington Road), Gwillim (Athletic), Bowles (United Service), and. Ward (High 'School). Mr. Frank Robertson (selector), was also present. Correspondence in connection with the Hawke Cup tournament was read. After some discussion as to dates, Mr. Avery moved and Mr. Whittle seconded, that the secreary write to the South Taranaki Association and endeavour to arrange a match for 26th and 27th December. 'Mr. Perham moved an amendment that the date of the match should be Dec. 15th and 16th if drawn at NewPlymouth, and 16th and 17th if at Hawera. The amendment was seconded by Mr. Williams and carried.

The action of the Junior Championship Committee in awarding the High School-Athletic match to the latter club was upheld.

Mr. T.. R. Southall handed in his resignation as hon. secretary which, on the president's motion, was accepted with regret, and Mr. Southall was thanked for his services. Mr. Perham moved and Mr. Bowles seconded, that Mr. Crawshaw, of the United Service Club, be requested to take over the secretaryship. This was carried. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Perham, that in the event of the North v. South Taranaki match being arranged, Taranaki play Wanganui on December 26 and 27.

The meeting also resolved that the secretary write to the various clubs requesting them to send in lists of players who, in the event of their being chosen for the representative team, would be able to travel on dates arranged. Mr. Bowles moved, and Mr. Whittle seconded, that the secretary notify clubs that in future the eight-ball over must be played. —Carried. Mr. Whittle moved, and Mr. Perham seconded that the matter of the High School-Fire Brigade match in the first round of the junior competition, and the Law v. New Plymouth match in the second round of the Saturday competition, be referred to their respective championship committees.—Carried. Mr. W. Bewley offered to present a pair of pads and a pair of batting gloves to be awarded as the Association considered advisable. This offer was received with acclamation.

The following will play for New Plymouth v. Inglewood to-morrow, on the Sports Ground: —W. C. Weston, M. G. Williams, E. Whittle, N. Arden, J. M. "Bury, W. T. Godd#rd, A. Green, B. Clarke, W. W. McLaren, B. Stohr, R. T. Trebblecoe; emergency, W. R. Johns.
