The Daily Chronicle's Johannesburg correspondent states that the Dutch are attempting to amend the Marriage Bill before the Union Parliament in the direction of forbidding the marriage of white people with colored people. The heads of the Anglican and Catholic Churches declare that if the amendment l is carried they will continue to solemnize mixed marriages. The Dutch Church is promoting a private Bill to amalgamate •sections of the church, including a clause that colored members at the Cape lose their membership if they emigrate northwards.
