LAWN TENNIS.
AUSTRALIA v. NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. Private advices received in Wellington state that Sta,n. Doust, the well-known tennis player of New South Wales, is anxious to bring a team to New Zealand, composed of the following:—Misses Addison, Stewart, Gyton, and another lady; Messrs. S. Doust, H. A. Parker, Taylor, and another. The idea is that tihe players should' compete in the New Zealand championships at Blenheim, and that a match, Australia v. New Zealand, should be played either at Wellington or some other centre, but not where the championship is being played. The scheme has been placed before the New Zealand Tennis Association.
FITZROY—STRATFORD. The match arranged between the Fitzroy and W.Y.M.I. (Stratford) clubs for to-day has been postponed. The Fitzroy members were to have travelled to Stratford, but the latter wish the match to be played at a later date, probably on account of to-day being "People's Day" at Stratford's first A. and P. Show.
