THE METHODIST CHURCH

WANGANUI DISTRICT SYNOD. By Telegraph.—Press .Association. Feilding, Last Night. In his presidental address to the Methodist Synod of the Wanganui District now in session in Feilding, the 'Rev. G. W. J. Spence, of Palmerston, said the district had shown a large increase in members, attendance at worship, and in local [preachers, and the Maori Mission had not flourished so strongly since the early days. The conference, after a long debate, decided by a large majority that the time was not opportune for making the boundary alterations sent as resolutions from the conference. It was decided to recommend to the conference a division of the Hawera circuit, with Manaia as the centre of a new circuit in charge of a probationer.
