WAIONGONA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) On Friday evening a meeting was held in the schoolroom for the purpose of electing a. committee to take in hand the arrangements in connection with the school picnic to be held on Thursday, December 15. Mr. E. Hunt was elected to the chair, and a strong committee was formed. Mr. Beere, the creamery manager, is leaving the district for Eltham. Mr. F. Williams has taken up his duties &s manager in place of Mr. Beere. An eel measuring 4ft 6in in length and loin girth, weighing 231bs, was caught in the old dam on Friday evening by Mr. A. Drozdroski.
