GERMAN BALLOONISTS' EXCITING EXPERIENCE. London, December 5. Some German balloonists who started from Munich, for Switzerland on Saturday were caught in a, gale and driven across the North Sea at a" terrific rate. They succeeded in landing in the Orkneys on Sunday. One passenger was jerked' overboard and drowned. Munich is about 400 miles from the sea, and its distance from the Orkneys is about 1000 miles in a direct line. \
