THE DANGEROUS DRAPE. By Telegraph.—Press Asflooiation. Wellington, December 5. A six-roomed .house at Roseueath, owned and occupied by Charles Johnson, was totally destroyed by fire at 11 o'clock yesterday morning through a mantel-drape in front of the kitchen fire catching alight. The house, which was valued at £SOO, was insured in the State for £3OO, but the contents were uninsured. UNOCCUPIED HOUSE BURNED. Dunedin, December 5. An unoccupied house at Opoho, valued at £250, owned by Edward Osten, of Wellington, was totally destroyed by fire. It was insured for £250 in the State Office. The origin of the fire is a mystery.
