SHEARERS' DISPUTE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, December 2. The Conciliation Council, under ■the presidency of Mr. Harle Giles, Conciliation Commissioner, to consider the demands of the Shearers' Union has arrived at a partial settlement of the dispute. Thirteen clauses were unanimously deleted from the claims, whilst fifteen other clauses stipulating conditions governing shearing were agreed to and will be sent forward to the Arbitration Court as recommendations for inclusion in the award. The remaining seventeen clauses in the demands, including the rate of pay and hours of work, are still in dispute, and will come before the Court for settlement.
