The Garrison Band will parade in-j Devon-street this evening at 7.30. ' Mr. Newton King reminds the public 'that owing to the Stratford Show falling on the same date as the Waiwakaiho sain, the sale has been postponed to Friday, 9th *n?t., the day following. Stories of the "Hobble" skirt have been irany, and the majority of Taranrki women are awaiting its arrival with mixed feeling-*. Will the ordinary every t'ay Woman be able to wear it? How can they walk in it? What difficulty v. il' it present in .climbing steps ? These and a score of similar question have been •asked. It fell to Messrs.' Morey and Son to answer them 4 and this firm announces the hew '"Hobble" skirt -as practical as its predecessors. A replace advertisement goes more fully into it. In this issue will be found particulars of an unreserved sale of furniture, etc., on account of Mr. T. C. Schnackenberg at his residence,-Vogeltown. The furniture is all almost new, and we understand was made by the Ton-son Garisck Co., of Auckland, to Mr Schmckenberg's order. Messrs. Webster Bros, are the auctioneers controlling the sale, and everything except the piano is for absolute sale. The great feature about the Melbourne tailor-made ready-to-wear suits is the convenience in "not having to wait." The large variety of sizes kept makes it practically possible to give nine men out of ten a perfect flit and at a price at least £2 lower than to measure.—Advt. During the week orders for stack covers have readied White and Sons from Feilding, Rotoraa and Opotiki, in addition to the usual Taranaki orders that oome in at this season of the year. For those who can make their own the price is Is G'/od per yard, six feet wiide.
