The assassins shaved and slashed the face, destroying its identity. The body was put in a, box by the murderers, and taken in a wheelbarrow through a populous part of Angers, where it >was abandoned on the sudden approach of some soldiers. The men escaped, but the woman, Marguerite Maud, was arrested.
